The list of PC manufactures planning for Windows 8 based devices is growing continuously and it’s a bit strange that these plans are giving clues about the launch of Windows 8. According to Fujitsu’s product road map, it seems like Windows 8 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2012. While showcasing its upcoming product-line in a press conference, Fujitsu displayed a slide that marked Q4 2012 with Win8 Launch and a Metro UI.
According to some analysts, the slide might be referring to the launch of a Fujitsu tablet based on Windows 8 by that time. Microsoft is yet to reveal the official launch time frame of its much touted touch-optimized OS. In the mean time Windows 8 Consumer preview, beta test edition will be out on February 29. Many analysts are betting that Windows 8 will be launched in 2012 for sure, but the big question is whether it will happen in Q4 or around the end of summer.
But it’s a known fact that the actual launch date depends on many issues and changes based on user feedback. In response to the feedback of the Developer Preview released in September 2011, Microsoft made some changes in Metro UI. All eyes now will be set on the Consumer Preview to ascertain the functionality and future changes required to arrive at the launch date.
